Five Element Acupuncture

Five Element acupuncture is rooted in a tradition over 2,000 years old. It works on the principle that body, mind and spirit are inseparable — and that lasting change comes from understanding the whole person, not just the presenting complaint.

I meet each person at the level where they most need support: physical, emotional or spiritual. Sometimes that’s shoulder pain or a tension headache. Sometimes it's that you haven't felt like yourself in months and you'd quite like to feel joy again.

Both are valid. I work with you as a whole.

How it works

Treatment begins with understanding — the root cause, the pattern beneath the symptoms, the full picture of how you are functioning.

In Chinese medicine, symptoms arise when the flow of qi and blood is disrupted. I work to restore that flow, supporting your body's capacity to rebalance from within.

Western research confirms measurable effects: needling activates the central nervous system, triggering the release of endorphins, serotonin and oxytocin, and modulating pain and stress responses at a neurochemical level.

Ancient system. Modern understanding. Both pointing toward your body's own capacity to heal.

Your sessions

Each appointment is 90 minutes. Your first visit includes a full consultation — health history, lifestyle, how you are functioning across all levels — followed by your first treatment.

Where appropriate, I draw on moxibustion, gua-sha, cupping and auricular acupuncture alongside needling.
