About these terms

These terms apply to all treatments and products provided by Joana Acupuncture, run by Joana Cerqueira at Erth Wellbeing Studio, 11A Leicester Road, Blaby, Leicester LE8 4GR. By booking an appointment or buying a product, you agree to them.

Joana is a registered NHS nurse and a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), and practises under the BAcC Code of Professional Conduct.

Booking and consultation

Appointments can be requested through the contact form on this website. Your booking is confirmed once you receive confirmation from Joana.

Before your first appointment you will be asked to complete some forms through WriteUpp. Treatment cannot go ahead until these are completed. Treatments are for adults aged 18 and over.

Fees and payment

  • Traditional acupuncture, initial appointment (about 1 hour 30 minutes): £65

  • Traditional acupuncture, follow-up (about 45 minutes): £50

  • Facial cosmetic acupuncture with LED light therapy (90 minutes): £110

  • Microneedling (90 minutes): £145; décolletage add-on +£10 (+10 minutes)

Payment is due at each appointment, by cash, debit card or bank transfer. Products are paid for in advance by payment link.

Cancellation fees (below) are payable by payment link. A new appointment may not be booked until any outstanding fee has been paid.

Treatment packages

A course of 6 facial cosmetic acupuncture treatments is available for the price of 5. Packages must be used within 6 months of purchase and cannot be exchanged for cash. If you cannot complete a package for medical reasons, or if Joana is unable to provide the treatments, any unused sessions will be refunded at the full single-session price, less the discount already received.

Cancellations and missed appointments

If you are unable to attend, please email Joana at joana.acupuncture@outlook.com as soon as possible.

Traditional acupuncture

  • At least 48 hours' notice is needed to cancel or reschedule without charge.

  • Cancelling or rescheduling with between 24 and 48 hours' notice incurs a £20 fee.

  • Cancelling with less than 24 hours' notice, or missing the appointment, is charged at the full treatment fee.

Cosmetic facial acupuncture and microneedling

  • At least 48 hours' notice is needed to cancel or reschedule without charge.

  • Cancelling or rescheduling with between 24 and 48 hours' notice incurs a £50 fee, as this time has been reserved especially for you.

  • Cancelling with less than 24 hours' notice, or missing the appointment, is charged at the full treatment fee (£110 for facial cosmetic acupuncture, £145 for microneedling).

Fees may be waived at Joana's discretion in genuine emergencies.

Arrival and lateness

Please ring the doorbell when you arrive and Joana will let you in. If you arrive late, your session will still finish at the booked time so the next client is not delayed, and the full fee applies. If you are more than 15 minutes late, the appointment may need to be rescheduled and treated as a late cancellation.

Your health and suitability for treatment

  • Please give full and accurate health information, and tell Joana about any changes before each appointment, including new medication, pregnancy, recent cosmetic procedures or skin treatments.

  • Joana may decline or postpone treatment if it is not safe or suitable for you, and may suggest you see your GP.

  • Acupuncture and microneedling are not a substitute for medical care. Please keep your GP informed and do not stop any prescribed treatment without medical advice.

  • You can ask questions, decline or stop any part of an examination or treatment at any time.

  • Please follow the aftercare advice you are given, particularly after microneedling.

Results

Everyone responds differently. Joana will always explain what is realistic for you, but no specific outcome can be guaranteed. Several sessions are often needed, and your treatment plan will be reviewed with you as it goes.

Products and returns

Products such as Evil Bone Water can be collected in clinic or posted to you. Postage is included in the price.

For hygiene reasons, Evil Bone Water cannot be returned once the seal has been opened. If you bought it without visiting the clinic, you may return an unopened, sealed bottle within 14 days of delivery for a refund; return postage is your responsibility. If your order arrives damaged or faulty, please contact Joana within 7 days for a replacement or refund.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with any part of your treatment or care, please tell Joana first at joana.acupuncture@outlook.com. Your concern will be acknowledged within 5 working days and taken seriously.

If you are not satisfied with the response, you can raise a concern with the British Acupuncture Council, which regulates the professional conduct of its members, at acupuncture.org.uk.

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version on this page applies to any appointment booked after it is published. Last updated October 2026.
