Evil Bone Water
Available to collect from clinic or posted anywhere in England — postage included. Order below.
Evil Bone Water is a premium Chinese topical liniment — known traditionally as Zheng Gu Shui, meaning ‘rectify bone water’. Handcrafted by Master Herbalist Dr. Mark T. Brinson using imperial grade herbal ingredients, it is one of the most respected topical liniments in Chinese medicine practice worldwide. I stock it, use it in clinic, and recommend it because I trust it.
What it is used for
In Chinese medicine, pain and injury arise when qi and blood are obstructed — unable to flow freely through the affected area. Zheng Gu Shui works by moving qi and blood, reducing stagnation and supporting the body's own healing process.
People commonly use it for:
Sports injuries and muscle pain
Joint pain — knees, hips, shoulders
Neck and back pain
Sprains, bruising and swelling
Cuts, insect bites and minor skin conditions
General discomfort and tension
What is in it and why it works
Every ingredient has a role.
Tian Qi — San Qi Ginseng: Stops bleeding, reduces swelling, alleviates pain and dissolves clots. One of the most valued herbs in Chinese medicine for trauma and injury.
Gui Pi — Cinnamon: Sourced from 30-year-old trees in the mountains of Guanzhong. Warms the channels, promotes circulation and alleviates pain.
Zhang Nao — Camphor: Expels wind and damp, moves blood to relieve pain and swelling.
Bo He Nao — Menthol: Cools and vents the body, clears the head and relieves stagnation.
Hu Zhang — Japanese Knotweed Root: Moves blood, dispels dampness, clears heat and removes toxins.
E Zhu — Zedoary: A cousin of ginger and turmeric. Breaks up blood stasis, dissolves accumulations and promotes movement to relieve pain.
Bai Zhi — Angelica: Expels wind, alleviates pain, reduces swelling and clears dampness.
Ji Gu Xiang — Croton: A rare herb used in traditional formulas for pain and obstruction.
Qian Jin Ba — Flemingia Root: Dispels damp, warms the channels and removes obstruction to relieve pain.
Bai Nui Dan — Elecampane: Wild-crafted in the mountains of Tibet — rare and difficult to source outside its native region. Provides anti-inflammatory and antihistamine properties.
High-quality grain alcohol: 190 proof potable grain alcohol — part of the extraction process and naturally antimicrobial.
UV-sterilised, filtered water: Carbon and sand filtered, softened and ionised for maximum herbal extraction.
How to use it
Apply Evil Bone Water to a cotton ball, gauze pad or piece of flannel — or spray directly onto the affected area. Rub in or hold as a compress for 2 to 90 minutes. Allow the skin to breathe; do not cover with plastic.
You should notice a cooling, warming and numbing effect lasting around 45 minutes. Friction increases the warming sensation. Repeat 2 to 4 times daily for most concerns.
Not for internal use. Avoid contact with eyes.
If you are pregnant, have a skin condition or are unsure whether Evil Bone Water is suitable for you, please get in touch before use.
